Wishes for a Happy New Year!

New Year's Wishes for You...

May you get a clean bill of health from your dentist, physicians, psychiatrist, plumber, mechanic, and the I.R.S.

May your check book and budget balance - with room for charity.

May your hair, teeth, abs and stocks not fall.
May your blood pressure, cholesterol, weight, and mortgage interest not rise.

May New Year's Eve find you surrounded by loved ones and cherished friends.
   For Woodworkers:
May you find the food better, the environment quieter, the cost less, and the pleasure more fulfilling than anything else you could imagine this night.

May you take daily pleasure in lifes little joys: sharing a great meal with good people, a clever joke, the joy of a smile, the love of family and friends.May you enjoy a wonderful new year filled with abundance, joy, and treasured moments!

May all your corners be square and your finishes be true.
May you stay safe and fully intact.
May you find time to enjoy and hone your woodworking skills.
May you find ways to improve your shop.
May you find many people admiring your work!

May we all live in a world at peace.

May we all find peace in this world.

An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.

Talbots' Begins Re-imaging Stores

Richard Brodeur received a call from both of the contractors on the two Talbot stores (Talbots Stores 67 Bellevue and 815 Rideau) that we just rolled out. They both praised our millwork packages and the service they received.

This project was definitely A GREAT TEAM EFFORT!

Talbots partnered with Kramer Design Group of New York City on architecture, interior design, graphics and merchandising.

H&W hits the wall at RDC 2011

Herrick & White is so proud to be a booth partner of New England Home Magazine at the Residential Design & Construction (RDC) 2011 at the Seaport World Trade Center.

I've "borrowed" picture from New England Home Magazine's Blog entry  to show the backdrop designed by Leslie Fine and constructed at H&W.   I'll post more pictures soon.

Notice the fireplace? It's playing on a flat screen supplied by another booth partner. Cool, eh?

Custom Trophy Showcases

This year the Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, Rhode Island will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the 1931 PGA Championship as well as the 50th Annual Northeast Amateur Invitational Golf Tournament. The Wannamoisett Archive Committee commissioned an installation featuring custom reproduction trophy cases by Herrick & White, displaying framed memorabilia and historic artifacts.

The Peregrine Group coordinated with McGeorge Architecture Interiors and Herrick & White to showcase trophies and over 50 photos and other pieces of memorabilia at the Club.

Charlton Memorial Hospital

Flashing back to July 2000, the following was written in H&W's internal newsletter, The Wood Post. It was written by Greg Clark, a former employee:

"Charlton Memorial Hospital was a maple panel project that was produced and installed in half of the typical production and installation time. The project consisted of 2400 square feet of sequence-matched maple panels that covered pilasters, wainscot, skylights and cabinets. The customer pushed this project off for 8 months and then asked us to complete the project, including installation in 6 weeks. The contractor was in a bind and asked if we could help. At the time Herrick & White was over capacity in engineering, manufacturing, finish and installation. In order to accomplish this request, everyone from sales to the installation crew had to be onboard with the reduced time frame.

To meet the deadline every department in the company pulled through. Some portions of installation and finish were subcontracted out, but even when those subs fell short of the goal, Herrick & White was able to regroup with only a couple hours notice and pick up where those subs left off. The project was completed on time and without a punch list being issued on any of H&W’s work. I think this project is a good example of H&W's ability to resolve problems when all departments pull together."
